What is DigiLocker? Now don't care about documents anymore

What is DigiLocker?

Digilocker is an online service provided by the Ministry of Electronics Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India to every Indian citizen. This service launched by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi under the Digital India initiative. With the help of DigiLocker, you can access all your documents and certificates online.

Uses of DigiLocker

DigiLocker helps you to access and download all your documents and certificates online such as PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, Vehicle Registration, etc. Provides 1 GB space of cloud storage to upload documents. The biggest advantage of this service is that you do not need to carry your original document with you. You can access your documents and certificates any time anywhere.All documents issued by DigiLocker will be valid as original documents. If you need your original document somewhere and you do not have an original document, you can show your document in DigiLocker. For example, if you are caught by the traffic police and do not have a driving license, you can show your documents in DigiLocker.

Now Indian Railways and Airports accept Digital Aadhar through Digilocker as valid identity proof.

How to use DigiLocker?

To use DigiLocker first download and install it on your mobile phone. It is available on Android and iOS. Now create an account and upload or issue your documents.

How to create DigiLocker?

To create DigiLocker account follow step by step

  • Step 1- Visit the official website (digilocker.gov.in) of Digilocker.
  • Step 2- Click on Sign Up
  • Step 3- Now enter Aadhar number or Mobile Number and click on continue.
  • Step 4- Enter OTP Click on continue

Now your DigiLocker account is successfully created.
